Piaget, J. and Piaget claims that early childhoods are still in the sensory-motor until preoperational stages (Wood, 2001). In the two stages, children are still considered as egocentric (Lefa, 2014) with the Although accepting this possibility, Piaget (1964, 1973) had the following to ask: 13 . 1. Piaget defined the development of children's thinking as a four-stage process, beginning with the sensorimotor stage in infants, who learn from experience by connecting new with older experiences. In the preoperational stage (two to seven years), a child can use words and manipulate them mentally. Piaget was clearly extending a notion borrowed from Binet (early in his career Piaget had been employed standardizing intelligence tests, Vidal, 1994), but while Binet focused on individual differences, Piaget found significance in children’s similarities (Hoffman, 1982). Piaget’s approach has proved remarkably fruitful. Piaget (1972) Intellectual Development He believed that everyone passed through an invariant sequence of four qualitatively distinct stages Invariant means that a person cannot skip stages or reorder them.
